Integrated Project-Maths(CT-4)

Learning outcome(s): Students will be able to:
·         investigate the speed of the cyclone and use formula of speed, distance and time to predict the arrival of  tornado to the shore so that warning to the people can be given and evacuation work could be taken on time to save the life of people living in coastal area.
·         estimate the damage caused by the Cyclone Hudhud and  Prepare a pie chart.
Material required:
Paper, pen , chart paper , colour marker

Instructional Methodology:
·         Divide the class in groups of 4 students.
·         Ask each group to collect information about the   speed of hudhud cyclone in any of the two state Orissa or Andhra Pradesh.  (students can use computer lab to use net)
·         estimate the distance. 
·         find the arrival time of the cyclone to the coast using the formula   (Students can select any of the two state)
Making of   pie graph.
·         Collect the data of casualty by Hudhud and  prepare a pie graph on chart paper.
·         Students can search on net for loss of human life, building damage, crop damage etc.

2 marks for finding time
